Tea is my boyfriend.

Yep, that's right. We've been dating for, gee, about 13 years now, I guess. I'm not quite sure when we started seeing each other, but we are childhood sweethearts!

"_____ is my boyfriend" is a phrase I've used since high school to describe how much I love something. My other steady boyfriend is "eggs." I have a steady human boyfriend too, and since he also loves tea and eggs, I think he's alright with being the newest addition to this polyamorous relationship ;)

I like reading blogs, but never succeeded in keeping up with any of the ones I've tried to make. But this time, I shall not fail!

Why this blog?

Well, I'm a collector. I often keep the tags/sleeves/boxes for the tea I drink, but I have no idea what to do with them. E-collecting in the form of a blog will hopefully help me de-clutter! I also just plain love tea, and I want to write about it.

Why the reviews of cheap tea?

I don't have the kind of money to afford to be a snob about my tea. I think "getting a bargain" is part of the fun, so I like to find tea that is inexpensive but tastes great. Also, I am wary of dropping $8+ on a box of tea at the grocery store, etc just because the name/box looks intriguing. I have bought way to many gross teas that hang around my house for years because I hate throwing things away. I thought maybe there'd be some other people out there who'd be interested in knowing if tea A really does taste like pomegranate, or what the leaves look like inside tea B's tin.

Why the sketches?

I used to be really into drawing comics and this sometimes expresses itself in the desire to draw something silly. I also just like drawing cartoon versions of myself. You have to be somewhat narcissistic to have a blog anyway, I think ;) I have been told my face is highly expressive in real life as well. I've chosen to take that as a compliment.

Do you actually know anything about tea?

Hey, don't you tell me I don't know who I'm dating! Sure, I've read a few books, drank LOTS of tea... I make no claims to be an expert, but I know what I like. If you have tips, or cool ideas/facts to share, I'd love to hear them!

Why are these side-bar titles in French?

Blogger turned into French when I was studying abroad in Paris. I like French, so I'm leaving it like that. If you think that's pretentious, that's your problem. Learning languages is fun! And it could occasionally help you read tea packages. When buying Asian products, I've often found that the French directions are more specific!
